RAYMOND JOHN COOPER

16th December 1948 - 28th July 2018

VIDEO TRIBUTE PAGE!

We are delighted that we have a video tribute page with four really special clips. A musical salute by Ray's friend Ben Harper - filmed at the L.A. memorial. A mini-film by Martin Lewis celebrating Ray's Sheffield roots. A eulogy for Ray by his pal Peter Gabriel. And homage to Ray from both the UK & the US music biz. Please share these clips with others. Ben Harper has very generously given his blessing to sharing his clip widely. It's a wonderful way in which the wider public may learn about Ray. So please spread it via social media etc

RAY SALUTED IN US & UK!

The life of Ray Cooper was celebrated in grand style in December 2018 - the month that marked the 70th anniversary of his birth. Memorial events were held in both Los Angeles and London. His life was celebrated by family, friends, colleagues and artists. There were eulogies, speeches, anecdotes, vintage video clips, live music and a brand-new short film about Ray. Some tears of sadness of course. And even more tears of laughter as we recalled our dear pal. We hope to present some details, photos and video in due course. Meanwhile you can see some media coverage of the memorials here.

CHARITABLE DONATIONS

Many people have asked if they could make a charitable donation as a salute to Ray. Philippa has now designated The Dementia Research Fund as the charity she would like to support. It takes donations of any size - in any currency - from anywhere in the world. Click here for details.

TEMPORARY PHOTO GALLERY

We hope to present a Ray photo gallery on this website soon. In the interim there is a makeshift photo gallery online. Just click here - and scroll to the foot of the new page that opens

Ray now rests deep in the green heart of his beloved England.

He was laid to rest on Thursday 9th August 2018. It was a very intimate family service.

The service and burial took place at St. Margaret of Antioch - a tranquil church dating back to the 11th century - in a rustic English village called Fernhurst - on the border of the verdant counties of Surrey and Sussex.

CELEB-RAY-TIONS OF RAY'S LIFE

There are plans currently being made for there to be two celebrations of Ray's life. One in London and one in Los Angeles. The idea is that these should both take place this December (2018) - the month that will be the 70th anniversary of Ray's birth.

To be notified of the dates and arrangements for both events please send an email with your contact info - and indicate in which city you would most probably attend. Send your email to: celebration@RayCooper.info
